High-Level Goal

Improve behavioral health messaging and services by incorporating culturally competent approaches.

Project Objective

Engage four cultural-linguistic groups to understand their perspectives on behavioral health challenges, and co-develop a culturally competent behavioral health awareness campaign.

ACBC Approach

A series of key-informant interviews with faith leaders and interactive workshops with diverse communities, complemented by a co-design process to develop a culturally-competent behavioral health campaign.

Outcome

The campaign reached 12,000+ people, with 700 engagements across languages and groups often not engaged with city content, boosting care-seeking through increased calls to the office's resource line.
