One of their municipal clients was looking to integrate climate justice into their Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP). ACBC Consulting guided Linnean Solutions through the development of a Climate Equity Framework and reviewed the CAAP to ensure consistency with the framework's ideals. The incorporation of the Climate Equity Framework has set the stage for their municipal client's 30-year vision and 10-year action plan.
Challenge
Linnean Solutions was tasked with the challenge of incorporating a Climate Equity Framework into their municipal client's CAAP. They were seeking a solution that would prioritize marginalized communities in benefiting from the climate mitigation and resilience strategies they designed.
Approach
ACBC Consulting guided Linnean Solutions through the development of a Climate Equity Framework that was customized to meet the specific needs of marginalized communities. We guided the framework building and provided options for community-specific examples and language that resonated with Linnean’s project aims. In addition, we provided an equity evaluation for the CAAP to ensure that the framework was well-integrated into the plan.
